We finally took that roadtrip we've been wanting to take for quite some time. It was overdue! We got to spend a week out in California with Grampa Boots and Nana Nancy! The kids really had a great time once the "jet lag" wore off. It was quite the drive out!
On the way there we got to stop at Brad and Carol's. We missed the new baby's arrival, but we did get to walk our little nieces and nephew to the bus stop for school. What a sweet family!
Grampa Boots and Nana Nancy took us out to a pumpkin patch. The kids had fun searching for pumpkins, and Greggy loved the hay maze. We couldn't get him out of it. We also got to feed the baby animals. It was a lot of fun!
We made our annual trip to Solvang to get our family portrait again. It's always fun browsing the shops, and Abby found herself a little baby. She just hugged her doll all over town. It was really cute.
We got Abby to the beach for the first time in her life. Unfortunately she was only there for the tan. She got wet, and didn't want anything to do with the water after. Greggy; however, loved the ocean! He still calls any body of water "Nana Nancy's Ocean".
Greggy had fun running from the water. After a while, he was letting the waves hit him. He was caught off guard when one wave plowed him down. He got up, and just ran to the sand without looking back. For the rest of the trip and the ride home he talked about how the wave "got him"
I think driving with kids for more than 4 hours should be outlawed. I love watching kids in the ocean and I can't believe how big Abi is!
